In my previous article, I talked about Mr. Davis’ account with Haitian culture and the zombification of people.  Mr. Davis’ work is known, read, and some even scoffed at his work.

However, I believe he was the first to take West African zombies seriously. Wade Davis might be the zombie anthropologist!

Zombie A Reanimated Corpse

The term comes from Haitian folklore, where a zombie is a dead body reanimated through various methods, most commonly magic.

The Oxford English Dictionary gives the origin of the word as West African and compares it to the Kongo words nzambi and zumbi. — Wikipedia… Zombie a reanimated corpse.

Hotel Transylvania The Series

Not many gothic cartoon out there but Hotel Transylvania is a franchise Alexa Wayne fell in love with!

My Obsession

When I first watched Hotel Transylvania, I quickly fell in love with the story even though 3D is not my cup of tea. The characters, the originality and the breath of fresh air the subject brought was fascinating.

Despite my obsession with Vlad The Impaler and Dracula, I was able to look pass that and fall for Mavis and her uncle Frankenstein… then came the series on June 25th, 2017… my jaw dropped.

Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton

The Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series is an urban fantasy that has sold more than six million copies worldwide. Twenty-six books translated into dozens of different languages.

The first book in the series, Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton, was published in 1993 and while that was twenty-five years ago I’ve always felt it best to start a review at the beginning.

Palette Swap

Time to get setup for work. Get a set of disposable cups, tissues, cotton balls, sponges, and paper towels all in a neat row. Well, to be honest, as neat as it is going to get. Set out the makeup wheels according to which actors come in first.

Different brushes for each layer of Glow in the Dark paint for the Clowns, tissues torn into pieces and latex set for when the Zombies come in. All set?
