Fall Back Means Vampires Are Coming Out Of The Coffin

Daylight saving time might go back to the first world war when electricity and power weren’t abundant but still something we practise in many countries to this day. But it means something entirely different for people like me.

This Is Not A History Class

When it’s time to ‘Fall Back,’ I get quite excited. It’s not because of the one more hour of sleep illusion, but because there will be less daylight. Society targets people like me when most agree that the sun is the main power for humankind as we function better and see better, including Vitamin D and E.

For as long as time, humankind progressed in daylight. It’s a general consensus that society made it ‘normal’ for people to work during the day and sleep at night. Not aware of places where daylight is less abundant all year round and is home to many people. Of course, those places are situated toward the poles but exist and are welcoming.

GBM Interviews Author Ashley Greathouse

At Gothic Bite Magazine we love welcoming new patients to become part of our asylum. We question them and learn about them. It doesn’t matter what creative field they are part of because they’re our patient now. This week, we welcome Ashley Greathouse

Patient Name: Ashley Greathouse

I’m an extremely boring person, most of the time. On the rare occasions that I am doing something extraordinary, I can be found travelling around haunted Indiana, exploring the many paranormal hotspots the Hoosier state has to offer.

I run and co-host a small team of two with fellow author Melissa Slate-Bindschadler, our investigations can be found on YouTube at Encounters With Darkness, or you can listen to our podcast on your favourite platform.

Exploring The Darker Side Of Human Nature In Fiction by Jane Jordan

What is dark romance? That was a question I was asked recently. Dark romance should tantalize the senses. It can be tragic or uplifting, but it has to explore the darker side of human nature.

*** JANE JORDAN IS THE AUTHOR OF THIS ARTICLE DESPITE LISTED AS ARIELLE BELLE LYON ***

A Little History

For me, as a novelist, it means a captivating romantic story that is dangerous and seductive, a tale that will lure readers with gothic tension and richly textured prose.

Historically, dark romance has been categorized as a literary subgenre of romanticism, an academic and artistic movement in Europe in the late eighteenth century. The defining characteristic of romanticism was an emphasis on emotion.

Patient Name: Ava Lynn Wood

Ava is an insomniac who writes to calm the voices. When the voices get too loud, stories are formed.

Ava was born and raised in Texas. Spending most of her years far from the city, she learned at an early age to create new worlds and characters as a form of entertainment. It was her cure to loneliness as an only child and led to her career as a writer today.

Patient Name: Mandi Konesni

I’m Mandi Konesni, a paranormal romance author. I’ve always been a “jack of all trades” crafty person. Soaps and toiletries? Okay! Jewelry? Hey, why not? Drawing? Eh, I’ll give it a shot, even if I could mangle a stick person. My first love, however, has always been writing.

I started reading young and haven’t stopped to this day. Eventually, you start imagining your own little worlds, which got me into roleplaying and gave me the courage to try my hand at writing for myself. It’s been a long journey filled with a lot of life lessons.

The Horror Lifestyle Is A Thing

The horror is a lifestyle is a thing is a term that has a different meaning to each person who identifies with it.

What Does It Mean For Me

For me, it means: embracing the horror-themed culture that brings us comfort in all things dark and spooky. Basically, we are addicted to the chills you get from anything that gives you a bit of a fright.

Horror culture is something that has blown up over the years. The boom of social media has allowed more horror lovers to showcase their love for all things horror and communities have formed.

The Faces of Abaddon The Demon Angel

Recently I did some research about the demon called Beelzebub. Now, to continue on that path, I decided to turn to Abaddon. Both commonly confused as Satan.

Quite A Mixed Origin

The faces of Abaddon the demon angel because no one knows what he truly is. Abaddon is one name we can see on “The Devil” ‘s coin in the Netflix series, Lucifer.

However, it is wrong to refer to the king of Hell, Satan, as Abaddon or Beelzebub, for that matter. Abaddon is an angel himself and a demon of in his own rights.

The Exorcist’s Apprentice Town of Pottersfield by L.A. Maciel

At Gothic Bite Magazine we love to review novels from indie authors. L.A. Maciel is one of our writers and with her novelette of paranormal here’s what Kendra Hale had to say!

You Dead?

I love a good prequel don’t you? It always feels like you are seeing the inner sanctum and waiting for the alarms to go off because you are in a restricted area and the $*$* could hit the fan any minute if you are not careful.

That and you get this different view of a character or group because you get to see what in their lives causes them to behave the way they do or why they make the choices that they make.

I fell in love with horror and gothic tales when I was five and saw Vincent Price recite The Raven. At nine, I read Stephen King’s Pet Sematary, confirming to my mom that I was just as weird as the rest of the family. My love of this genre doesn’t come from the joy of being scared. It comes exploring the dark nature of the world.

Death Is Not Evil

Okay. So I want to apologize to our subscribers. Not only have I not written an article in a while. Sorry, life happened! But also I’m about to go into a death-related rant. I apologize. On with the rant!

The Death Expert Is Back

Now, as our usual readers know, I am Gothic Bite Magazine‘s Death Expert, which means I write articles about death and whatnot. However, it has come to my attention that the media: television, movies, books, among other platforms, love to make anything related to death, evil.

And, as a Death Positivity Advocate, this irritates me. These platforms and services are why people in this part of the world, i.e., Western society, have death anxiety.
