It is becoming a series that has people glued to their small screens. Netflix didn’t waste time and jumped on Bernard Cornwell‘s work of The Saxon Stories and called it The Last Kingdom.

Women And Witchcraft

Throughout history, we have read about the various women who, back in the early days, suffered persecution and accusation of witchcraft. When anything wrong seemed to happen, they were the ones to blame. 

The women were at fault, and they viewed it as suspicious if it happened more than once. The suspicion turned towards the idea that the female must be at fault and a witch.

Not All Doctors Are Good

Thomas Neill Cream, or Dr. Cream, was a Scottish-Canadian medical doctor, graduate from the Montréal McGill University in Québec, Canada. It earned him the moniker of the Lamberth Poisoner as he used strychnine to poison his victims. 

Thomas was born in May 1850 and dreamed of becoming a doctor. It was an era where people put their complete trust in doctors and medicine as there was no other way to inform oneself about anatomy and medical procedures. Also, doctors took an oath to save lives.

For our short-lived serial spree British killer Daniel Gonzalez, however, slasher flicks were life plans. When he watched horror movies like the A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th, he aspired to be the killer. He wanted to become Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees as a career. 

Forget the policeman or fireman! When Daniel Gonzalez grew up, he wanted to be a real-life slasher movie serial killer. He wanted to kill and frighten strangers.

Who is Jane Jordan

Jane was born in England and grew up exploring the history and culture of London and the surrounding counties. After some time spent in Germany in the 1990s, she immigrated to Detroit, USA, eventually settling in South West Florida.

She returned to England after a fifteen-year absence, to spend six years in the South West of England living on Exmoor. Here, inspired by the atmosphere, beautiful scenery and the ancient history of the place, she wrote her first novel, Ravens Deep. The next two books, Blood & Ashes and A Memoir of Carl, completed her gothic vampire trilogy.

The L.E.D. Band’s History

UK writing duo, Living with Eating Disorders, is Andrea Kerr and Jared Hawkes who began writing together back in 2001.

The band caught the attention of renowned producer John FryerDepeche Mode, Cocteau Twins, NIN, who produced their debut EP, White Like Snow, which was released in August 2004 on Johns label, Something to Listen To.

What Is Gothic?

The Gothic environment is all around us from its musical influence to its architecture, its furniture and obviously, the individuals.

To explain everything in details of what Gothic encompass, I will, in this article, bring you on a journey starting with what people inspire themselves with through fashion so I can then talk about its history throughout the years and finish with its influence in architecture, art and furniture.
