Is Cain The First Evil Of Earth Or A Self-Made Demon?

Some of us know the story of Cain and Abel, while others know the character better from the Netflix series Lucifer. What is fascinating about Cain’s character is his ambiguity regarding evil and demons.

The Origin Of Cain

From the Book of Genesis, Cain came as a biblical figure from ancient religions and made its place within King James’ Bible. Cain is Adam and Eve’s firstborn and so Abel’s older brother. We know Adam and Eve to be the first two humans created.

Cain was a farmer, and all his crops were offerings to the Lord. However, despite his dedication, the Lord wasn’t happy. To make matters worse, the Lord displayed his favouritism toward Abel. This display of affection angered Cain and made him quite jealous of his younger brother.

The Haunting Of The Marshall House Hotel Of Savannah Georgia

We have a passion here at Gothic Bite Magazine for haunted places with lots of history attached to them. Visiting places where possible entities still reside in their homes, last places, or new ones, intrigue us. This week, we’re visiting the State of Georgia.

History’s Medical Horror

Savannah, Georgia, is one of the most haunted cities in Georgia. This is not strange due to the number of horrific deaths that have taken place in this city. Being so haunted means that there is a prolific number of places that those who are looking for a fright should visit.

One such place is the Marshall House Hotel. From Spanish flu to the civil war within its borders, it had it all. The people who run the Marshall House Hotel are very aware of the house’s haunted history and deal with everything from objects moving to lights flickering on and off at all hours.

Goth Shaming Is A Thing It Is Dreadful

When someone says “goth” or “gothic,” most people automatically think of Marilyn Manson or scary-looking people. Being goth is so much more than that.

I Was Goth Before I Knew It

At thirty-seven years old, I believe I do know a big chunk of myself. I think I was born goth. I just didn’t know it. Or maybe I knew it, but the people raising me didn’t want me to be goth. They tried and shoved the Barbie look down my throat. It didn’t work. Goth shaming is a thing and it is dreadful.

My grandparents raised me. I am an only child, and so is my mother. As for my father, he left not long after I was born, never to return. My grandpa loved me no matter what I looked like. But, my grandmother was all about appearances. She never shied away from letting me know she wanted me to have blond hair and be lady-like.

GBM Interviews Author Ashley Greathouse

At Gothic Bite Magazine we love welcoming new patients to become part of our asylum. We question them and learn about them. It doesn’t matter what creative field they are part of because they’re our patient now. This week, we welcome Ashley Greathouse

Patient Name: Ashley Greathouse

I’m an extremely boring person, most of the time. On the rare occasions that I am doing something extraordinary, I can be found travelling around haunted Indiana, exploring the many paranormal hotspots the Hoosier state has to offer.

I run and co-host a small team of two with fellow author Melissa Slate-Bindschadler, our investigations can be found on YouTube at Encounters With Darkness, or you can listen to our podcast on your favourite platform.

Exploring The Darker Side Of Human Nature In Fiction by Jane Jordan

What is dark romance? That was a question I was asked recently. Dark romance should tantalize the senses. It can be tragic or uplifting, but it has to explore the darker side of human nature.

*** JANE JORDAN IS THE AUTHOR OF THIS ARTICLE DESPITE LISTED AS ARIELLE BELLE LYON ***

A Little History

For me, as a novelist, it means a captivating romantic story that is dangerous and seductive, a tale that will lure readers with gothic tension and richly textured prose.

Historically, dark romance has been categorized as a literary subgenre of romanticism, an academic and artistic movement in Europe in the late eighteenth century. The defining characteristic of romanticism was an emphasis on emotion.

GBM Interviews Indie Author Mandi Konesni

At Gothic Bite Magazine we love welcoming new patients to become part of our asylum. We question them and learn about them. It doesn’t matter what creative field they are part of because they’re our patient now. This week, we welcome Indie Author Mandi Konesni!

Patient Name: Mandi Konesni

I’m Mandi Konesni, a paranormal romance author. I’ve always been a “jack of all trades” crafty person. Soaps and toiletries? Okay! Jewelry? Hey, why not? Drawing? Eh, I’ll give it a shot, even if I could mangle a stick person. My first love, however, has always been writing.

I started reading young and haven’t stopped to this day. Eventually, you start imagining your own little worlds, which got me into roleplaying and gave me the courage to try my hand at writing for myself. It’s been a long journey filled with a lot of life lessons.

Mystical Menagerie Column — The Ultimate Taboo by Mandi Konesni

The Wendigo is part of the First Nations of North America. This is a respectful article about the legend of the cryptid. Mandi Konesni is a paranormal expert with an avid, yet, respectful approach on the cryptozoology of this world.

Tempted A Little Too Far

Hunger beats at you, a thirst like you’ve never known before. You’re ravenous, but no matter how much you eat, you can’t satiate your appetite.

There’s only one thing you crave, the only sustenance you know might give you a few moments of peace from the gnawing ache in your stomach, but to dare is to forsake your last vestiges of humanity…to cross the ultimate taboo. To be tempted too far is to be damned. Cursed.

GBM Interviews Indie Author M. Sinclair

At Gothic Bite Magazine we love welcoming new patients to become part of our asylum. We question them and learn about them. It doesn’t matter what creative field they are part of because they’re our patient now. This week, we welcome Indie Author M. Sinclair!

Patient Name: M. Sinclair

Born and raised in Chicago, I live in Missouri near Whiteman AFB but definitely miss my city traffic and busy coffee shops. I am a parent to 3 cats who support my writing career nearly as much as my cute British husband.

Recently, I became a full-time author to devote more time to expanding my multiple series, and I couldn’t be happier. I tend to focus the majority of my writing on gothic horror and romance, currently focused on the reverse harem subgenre in particular.

The Faces of Abaddon The Demon Angel

Recently I did some research about the demon called Beelzebub. Now, to continue on that path, I decided to turn to Abaddon. Both commonly confused as Satan.

Quite A Mixed Origin

The faces of Abaddon the demon angel because no one knows what he truly is. Abaddon is one name we can see on “The Devil” ‘s coin in the Netflix series, Lucifer.

However, it is wrong to refer to the king of Hell, Satan, as Abaddon or Beelzebub, for that matter. Abaddon is an angel himself and a demon of in his own rights.

Beelzebub The Prince of Demons

One of my earliest interest in the paranormal was not vampire but demonology. My attraction to history leads to legends and folklores. A common mistake is Beelzebub who is not the King of Hell.

Infernal Dictionary It’s a Thing

Beelzebub the prince of demons’ story starts like this. In the year 1818, a quite unique dictionary went under publication in two separate volumes. Between the years 1818 and 1863, that book went through reprints six individual times, and many changes applied.

The gathering of superstitions mixed with discoveries from multiple legends, folklores, and bibles, created not only demonology but the Dictionnaire Infernal.

Blair Witch — 2016

The Blair Witch Is Back With A Vengeance

In 1999 a new genre of a horror movie made its entrance starting with The Blair Witch Project. Its prime marketing scheme selling it as a found footage inspired many movies ever since, and now it’s back.

*** minimal spoilers ***

Burkittsville Maryland Home of the Blair Witch

The Blair Witch is back with a vengeance but!

It is important to note that the town of Burkittsville in the American State of Maryland is real, but it is not where the movie happens when filmed. After the release of The Blair Witch Project in 1999, many fans harassed people from the village of 200 inhabitants to find the forest and more about the legend.
