The Christian Denunciation Horror Genre

Christian Horror is growing in the genre and is taking much more space in the last decade. It has many faces, and Christian Denunciation Horror is one of them, told and explained by Kasey Hill.

Hoia Baciu Forest Gives The Heebie-Jeebies In The Devil’s Complex

It is no secret that Romania is one of my favourite places on Earth. It is home to some of the best folklore and paranormal creatures, filling our nightmares with fright. Movies such as The Devil’s Complex are proof of that!

Blood Creek — 2009

Would Cancel Culture Cancel 2009 Blood Creek?

With all the movements of awareness in today’s United States in the film industry, it’s hard to be edgy. The horror genre is often either overlooked or over-judged by people that aren’t horror fans, to begin with. So, my review of the movie Blood Creek, fourteen years later…

The Official Summary

In 1936, the Wollners, a German family living in Town Creek, West Virginia, are contacted by the Third Reich to host a visiting scholar. In need of money, they accept Professor Ricard Wirth into their home, unaware of the Third Reich’s practices in the occult or Wirth’s real mission, which will keep the family bound for decades to come.

Now, more than 70 years later, Evan Marshall’s older brother Victor mysteriously disappears near Town Creek for two years and suddenly returns very much alive, having escaped his captors.

How To Survive An Iconic Slasher Killer Like Leatherface

Gothic Bite Magazine is officially relaunched this week! To kickstart our new beginning, we decided to do a week on how to survive an iconic slasher killer.

McConaughey Wasn’t Driving A Lincoln

The GBM Relaunch is winding down, and shockingly yet another Friday the 13th where I’m not talking about Jason. Biters, I can hear you cry blasphemy.

After all, it’s his big day, but we can’t end this relaunch without sending you off with some southern hospitality. That’s right, let’s talk Leatherface.

How To Survive An Iconic Slasher Like Pinhead

Gothic Bite Magazine is officially relaunched this week! To kickstart our new beginning, we decided to do a week on how to survive an iconic slasher killer.

Avoid Being a Victim of the Hell Priest

WARNING: Sadomasochism | Torture | Gore | PTSD.

The slasher horror film hall of fame contains such heavy hitters. Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, Jigsaw, Ghostface, and Michael Myers, just to name a few. But few can hold a candle to the sheer terror the one and only Pinhead instilled in me as a kid.

Of course, in retrospect, watching Hellraiser at the age of ten may not have been the best idea.

How To Survive An Iconic Slasher Killer Like Jigsaw

Gothic Bite Magazine is officially relaunched this week! To kickstart our new beginning, we decided to do a week on how to survive an iconic slasher killer.

Putting the Pieces Together to Outwit Jigsaw

WARNING: Torture Porn

Like most horror franchises, the movies are countless, and each one comes up with a new plot and leaves viewers thinking. Now how would I outwit Jigsaw and survive the movie?

The Saw franchise has released nine movies, and unfortunately, we all know Hollywood isn’t the greatest for titling their movies. So we have Saw, Saw II, etc. But the numbers are in roman numerals just to give it a slight edge.

How To Survive An Iconic Slasher Killer Like Ghostface

Gothic Bite Magazine is officially relaunched this week! To kickstart our new beginning, we decided to do a week on how to survive an iconic slasher killer.

Remember The Beginning No One Forgot?

Imagine it. Home alone. Popcorn popping. You are getting ready to watch your favorite horror movie. Then the phone rings. It will most likely be your cell phone because, let’s face it, who really uses a landline anymore? It’s a number you don’t recognize.

Now, most of us would ignore it. We have become a society of texting and not answering nonrecognizable numbers. But what if they keep calling? You block the number.

How To Survive An Iconic Slasher Killer Like Freddy

Gothic Bite Magazine is officially relaunched this week! To kickstart our new beginning, we decided to do a week on how to survive an iconic slasher killer.

Surviving Night Terrors

WARNING: Mention of Rape | Pedophilia | Molester | Night/Sleep Terrors | Anxiety.

Living with night terrors all my life had me meet a few therapists. Cursed with horrid nightmares and feeling pain through terror, I learned lucid dreaming. My fear of going to bed also developed insomnia. So, how to survive an iconic slasher killer like Freddy?

I am a light sleeper. Any faint sound can wake me as well as light. I need a white noise machine to muffle uneven noises. If I can feel or see light, as I often sleep with eyes half closed, I wake up, and it’s almost impossible to fall back asleep.

The Autopsy Of Jane Doe

The Puritan Torture Of Jane Doe

When watching a horror period movie, I wonder if the torture they use is true to the time. I’m a medieval history nerd, and here is my conclusion on the matter.

Ships Passing In The Night

This week I flipped through to see if something could find anything movie wise that was new to me and of course watchable.

Movies Of Ships

Two of my favorite horror movies that I feel I could rewatch time and time again and never tire of are Thir13en Ghosts (2001) and Ghost Ship (2002). This week I flipped through to see if something could find anything movie wise that was new to me and of course watchable.

Death Ship (1980) caught my eye and you can guess which of my two favorites it led me to rewatch. In doing so it made me compare the two films, and even take a look at the reviews of both since both didn’t get the best of scores on their releases. So let’s take a look at them and kick back with ghosts on the high seas.

The Ups And Downs Of Found-Footage

My favorite horror movie genre is found footage. It’s like I can’t get enough of that style, and I know what many people think, it’s cheap, and it’s cheesy and bad. But, many underrated movies are gaining popularity in the genre. Here are some!

The Found Footage Debate

Many of us believe that the found footage style began with The Blair Witch Project in 1999. Then you have those who argue that Cannibal Holocaust from 1980 is the first of its kind. However, maybe some of us were wrong. The ups and downs of found-footage started in the new millennium for sure!

*** Before we go any further, let’s remind ourselves of a great tool to avoid trauma while watching horror movies: Does The Dog Die ***

While Cannibal Holocaust was part found footage, it wasn’t all found footage. However, maybe they were the first to exploit the marketing method of asking their actors to hide to reinforce the “true story” part. The director was also dragged to court and had to pay a fee for animal cruelty.
