A child at your door or car window with a friend or two. Asking to come inside, to make a phone call, or for a ride. It seems innocuous, but your gut screams at you.
Shrouded in shadow, something seems ‘off’ about the children. Chills race along your spine, the hair on your neck and arms stands straight up. You crack the door or roll down the window slightly…

Heard the barest of laughs and an ethereal voice from the fog, a siren’s lure you cannot erase from your mind. Are you going mad or being ensnared in a spell as old as time? Was that a beckoning hand, summoning you into the deep?

Until you’re running through the maze of carbon-copy streets, heart-pounding, breathing frantic. The pup in your arms is getting so heavy, but you’re terrified to put it down. All you wanted was to take the pup for a quick potty break before bed. The quiet, tree-lined street was a haven, a refuge from city life.

The Devil is part of almost all religions throughout history. But the one we are addressing comes from not only Catholicism and Christianity, but also Islam as well as Judaism. The Devil’s landing on Earth, is it real?
The Devil is a fallen angel, but when angelic one of the most precious ones to God. He was his favorite and most beautiful angel and ‘son’ at the time. Despite his rebellion against God when he refused to bow to Adam, the Devil lived.

These are known as the precursors of the vampiric legends. The vampire that we know today originated almost exclusively from 18th century southeastern Europe.

Raised Christian, I went to the Church every Sunday and was part of the choir. I even took part in our church group to keep the company to elderly people without families. Moreover, I loved every minute of it.

It is important to note that the town of Burkittsville in the American State of Maryland is real, but it is not where the movie happens when filmed. After the release of The Blair Witch Project in 1999, many fans harassed people from the village of 200 inhabitants to find the forest and more about the legend.

Some may ask why, and this is my answer: I live in the French province of Quebec in Canada where many older people sharing the bloodline of Native Americans suffered shame from other cultures.
Me, I am proud and taught my grandpa, who raised me, to be proud of his blood and magnificent rich ancestry. My grandfather was Native American, part of the Mohawk people to be more précised. On my grandmother’s side, while she was Acadian, she did also share some Native American blood we believed to be Ojibwe.

‘Til the sandman he comes
They say the Sandman is not a ghost—that he is an entity that comes to visit you at night to put you to sleep, and bring you good dreams. There have been many myths and legends written about him.
In fact, there are also stories about how the Sandman collected the eyes of children who would not sleep. There is such a vast amount of information on him that it is hard to tell what is the actual tale and what is twisted.
Continue reading “Is the Sandman a Ghost?”I remember hearing about the Sandman as a child; it wasn’t through the Hans Christian Andersen’s story but through The Chordettes version of Mr. Sandman the song. In fact, in almost every rendition that I have had the pleasure to read or hear since I was introduced to the Sandman, every instance has been innocent, good intent, misunderstood, and complex.
There are a few versions in the last few years that especially stand out. It is always fascinating to see how different minds see the same lore and make it come to life in their worlds.
Continue reading “Bring Me A Dream”The summary of the story itself is quite disturbing and worthy of a Stephen King hit! Back then, I am quite sure that the story scared many people. The Sandman was not what we know him to be now. Continue reading The Sandman
There’s much controversy about the Bell Witch Cave. Some say she is the daughter of an abusive father. Some say she is an outside entity that came to torment the Bell Family. There are even other reports that the Bell Witch was a male slave killed by Bell in the past.
The most common telling of it is that the Bell Witch was a neighbor girl whose name was Kate Batts. Often reports show the girl to quarrel with John Bell’s daughter Betsy who’s engagement was to Joshua Gardner—later broke up in 1821.
