IN THE BEGINNING
Welcome back readers and sorry for the pause. With all the chaos going on in our world, let me say that I hope that the one reading this is safe and that all in their life is peaceful as it can be in this time.
I was going to do another Goosebumps or Animorphs run on an article but The Haunting of Hill House was one that I had just finished and since that wholly fits in with Gothic Bite Magazine, that is the one I shall give you for food of thought.
The Haunting of Hill House is an eminently recommended Netflix series. It’s not like your average paranormal series. It has a psychological factor at play, and it’s one of those series you must start from the beginning and watch in order until the very end to understand the magnitude of the house’s heritage.
The Official Summary of The Haunting of Hill House
Explores a group of siblings who, as children, grew up in what would go on to become the most famous haunted house in the country.
Now adults, and forced back together in the face of tragedy, the family must finally confront the ghosts of their past, some of which still lurk in their minds while others may actually be stalking the shadows of Hill House.
A serial killer is typically a person who murders three or more people, usually in service of abnormal psychological gratification, with the murders taking place over more than a month and including a significant period of time between them. — Wikipedia
The Brutal Fascination
There seems to be a fascination with serial killers. Even I am intrigued by them. So, what is it about them that piques people interest in them? Is it their crimes, the victims? The types of murders they committed.
The brutality of it all? For me, it’s trying to understand how another human being can be so devoid of emotions that they see other humans as prey. Chilling to think of, but to them, we are a means to their dark desires.
Every summer I go on a trip somewhere in the United States. How do I pick my location or the best beaches, sun, fun, and cuties? Don’t be silly. I look for haunted locations of course.
A Different Vacation
Every summer I go on a trip somewhere in the United States. How do I pick my location or the best beaches, sun, fun, and cuties? Don’t be silly. I look for haunted locations of course.
I’ve been doing this for years. Sometimes the trips are simple one-day excursions. Sometimes the adventure takes a few days if I can match my fascination with haunted and history together all the better!
Orbs
This year I’m making some recommendations to anyone out there who might want to travel and get their ghostly experiences on. This list is by no means an impartial list. I have my favorite places, and I have reasons why they are my favorites. Look at it as GBM’s Travel Channel to do list!
Haunted Locations
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania: A more than one day kind of trip. If you go in July be prepared to be overwhelmed by tourist. The haunts are best in May and June.
Not long ago, Gothic Bite Magazine asked for people to share their paranormal stories with us. Some of you answered the call and now, here are some of your stories…
I Knew Better
It was the summer of 96 or better referred to as “The Summer of Hell.” I can’t help but to blame myself; after all, I’ve watched plenty of horror movies to know all the basic rules, but even then I ignored the most important one.
I was young and curious. So attracted to anything horror. I played with a spirit board by myself, and if that wasn’t enough, I had chanted spells that I found in a spell book written in another language.
An investigative series that pairs Steve DiSchiavi, a retired Homicide Detective with the New York City Police Department with more than twenty-one years of active service with psychic communicator Amy Allan who has an established sixth sense and an affinity for channeling the dead. Death is something that either fascinates people or leaves them afraid. It is common to see the truth of a person on its death bed.
It is also common to wonder if they’ll come back or go to heaven or the switch as merely turned off. Either way, ghosts are part of our history. Continue reading Ghostly Origins
Gothic Bite Magazine is my precious baby, aside from my furry assistant, Carey. It was a dream of mine since I was in high school to have my magazine.
Here We Go Again!
Let’s face it though, I’m no fashion girl and not goth either. I’m in between, and so is GBM!
You know the story of Gothic Bite Magazine already. I was on my couch, watching Hotel Transylvania – The Series. It’s no secret. I wrote it a few times. I reached out to friends and created Gothic Bite Magazine.
I enjoy paranormal shows on television, those documentaries about researchers who go to places and investigate.
There are some series that I give the benefit of the doubt while others, I watch because it makes Bobenstein, my hubby, sigh. I’m evil like that, mwahaha…

This novel is one of my top five books that I adored from the original series. It was also one that I looked forward to as I came back to read these stories as an adult.
One of the main reasons why that is is the belief that cameras have the power to steal away parts of our souls or essences completely enthralls me.

For a very short time, I lived in a haunted house. It was my family’s home. It was the place of my dreams. I had an enormous bedroom all my friends were envious about. It was the most beautiful house because my grandpa built it.
I was raised by my maternal grandparents. My mom still going to college when she had me, was greatly helped by them. And so, here is the story of the haunted house I grew up in.
