Fangtastic Goth Collecting Story

I am an obsessive collector of many things: True Blood, Hotel Transylvania The Series, Vlad the Impaler books, and Monster High. You know, goth things! When I was young, the only one I could relate to was Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family until I could read and discover Frankenstein.

The thing is, I was born in 1985, and so Monster High came into my life when I was twenty-five. I fell in love with Frankie Stein! I know the OCD Vampire doesn’t place Draculaura first. What gives? But Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein is unique, and Frankie Stein is so adorable!

Last year, I started drawing Mavis from Hotel Transylvania in a holiday sweater from the day after American Thanksgiving to January 2nd.

Hotel Transylvania The Series

Not many gothic cartoon out there but Hotel Transylvania is a franchise Alexa Wayne fell in love with!

My Obsession

When I first watched Hotel Transylvania, I quickly fell in love with the story even though 3D is not my cup of tea. The characters, the originality and the breath of fresh air the subject brought was fascinating.

Despite my obsession with Vlad The Impaler and Dracula, I was able to look pass that and fall for Mavis and her uncle Frankenstein… then came the series on June 25th, 2017… my jaw dropped.

Frankenstein is not the name of the monster but the mad scientist’s name. Do you see his creation as an abomination or a possibility to a second chance?

Mary Shelley Mother Of Science Fiction

Frankenstein’s Monster was written by Mary Shelley, but we already know the story of the novelist that changed the vision of horror, science-fiction and how she opened the door for women coming into the literary world.

She created over a summer, after herself and her friends made a bet of writing an entire story by the beginning of Fall and she was the only one who accomplished it and had it published in 1818 with the help of her father.
