When working on my new novel series, I thought that I could write it without a sweat with a certification in demonology. But, it turns out that possessions go more profound than we thought. Welcome to Catholic-based possessions.
*** Note here that we are talking about Christianity and Catholic possessions. With that said, consider yourself warned, and let’s dive in!
When The Church Authorizes An Exorcism
When enough proof of demonic possession surfaces, the Catholic Church may authorize an exorcism. However, it goes under scrutiny. The Church doesn’t want to have an association with the devil-like it once did.
For exorcisms to receive approval is almost impossible. Many characteristics must surface, and criteria met. There must be proof of manifestation, foreign language, knowledge, and profanity.
Gothic Bite Magazine is diving into the demonic possession world of Catholicism and Christianity. We are studying the cases in history and this is what Kendra Hale found…
A Demon Possession
Everyone in some way shape or form has an image of what a demon or possession is. Whether through movies or TV, books or podcasts; they can be found in a variety of mediums.
Maybe your knowledge of demons and possession are more faith based, whispers in the church or just in passing conversations. Whatever the case may be, one truth is this. Possessions are not new discussions and have been around far longer than they have been documented.
What numbers do we think about when we hear the word ‘devil’ or ‘evil?’ 666. But why is 666 the number of the Beast, and what does it mean? How far back are we going?
666 In Pop Culture
Why is 666 the number of the beast? The number 666 goes back a while, but we also use it to represent something negative, such as the Beast in today’s world. Often when houses or buildings have 666 addresses, they have a lower price—people associate, like the number 13, a bad reputation.

Each step of Catholic possession is coming, but first, we must put some warning!

When Possession History Begins
In the Old Testament from The Bible, there is a mention of King Saul, who states that an evil spirit tormented him (1 Samuel 16:14.)
However, this seems to be outside of him and not something coming from within. Moreover, the Catholic Encyclopaedia is not keen on the idea of King Saul’s possession because it was a torment and not a proof of direct possession.
When asked what my favorite monster is, contrary to popular belief, it isn’t vampires, but demons.
Say A Prayer
Angels above Demons below is the common knowledge. Some of us like to be safe and be what society refers to as “normal.” I don’t. I am an individual looking for the strange, and I fit with weirdos.
Raised Christian, I went to the Church every Sunday and was part of the choir. I even took part in our church group to keep the company to elderly people without families. Moreover, I loved every minute of it.
After moving to a new city, young Andy Barclay receives a special present from his mother. Sounds familiar? Well, Chucky has a creepy origin and its true name was Robert.
The Beginning Of A Beautiful…Disturbing Friendship
In Key West, FL on a street by the name of Eaton, sits a home referred to as “The Artist’s House.” It was in this beautiful home, originally built between 1890 and 1898, that a young man named Eugene would receive a life changing present.
Eugene Robert Otto, by all accounts, was only around 10 years old when he received a hand-made, one of a kind, cloth doll from one of the servants who worked for his parents. A gentle gift, given the name of Robert, would soon cause waking nightmares for the boy known to family as Gene.
One of my earliest interest in the paranormal was not vampire but demonology. My attraction to history leads to legends and folklores. A common mistake is Beelzebub who is not the King of Hell.
Infernal Dictionary It’s a Thing
Beelzebub the prince of demons’ story starts like this. In the year 1818, a quite unique dictionary went under publication in two separate volumes. Between the years 1818 and 1863, that book went through reprints six individual times, and many changes applied.
The gathering of superstitions mixed with discoveries from multiple legends, folklores, and bibles, created not only demonology but the Dictionnaire Infernal.
We were looking for a horror paranormal movie or series and came upon this obscure story taken down from Netflix and available on YouTube. It’s a Canadian movie combining horror and paranormal shows.
This is a grave encounter of the footage kind!
Grave Encounters is a 2011 Canadian found footage supernatural horror film. The footage follows the crew of a paranormal reality television program who lock themselves in a haunted psychiatric hospital in search of evidence of paranormal activity as they shoot what ends up becoming their final episode. — Wikipedia
Gothic Bite Magazine is proud to present our third anthology to our amazing followers and wonderful readers!
The Gothic Grimoire Anthology is all about the darkest the paranormal can offer from immortals to hauntings, and a grimoire ties all.
The Making of a Grimoire
When seeing many anthologies, four authors thought maybe we could come up with something different, and we all decided to lend on a grimoire mixed with as much darkness as we could and a little dash of what makes each of us so unique in our writing. Some of us have stories tied to our on-going series while others started their set, and this is the introduction to their universe.
