Gothic Bite Magazine Interviews Their Writer, James Vaughan

At Gothic Bite Magazine, we love welcoming new patients to become part of our asylum. We question them and learn about them. It doesn’t matter what creative field they are part of because they’re our patients now. This week, we welcome James Vaughan.

Patient Name: James Vaughan

I’m James Vaughan, an occasional writer for GBM and a part-time custodian. I’m Taurus and enjoy long walks on the beach…Oops, sorry, wrong interview.

If that last line didn’t make it obvious, my key trait in the Ghoul Family is humour. I’m the comedic relief to the rest of our gang’s tragedy, showcase the theatre masks because I’d rather laugh now and cry later.

The Little Match Girl As A Maiden And Unhappy Girl

2023 has just begun, and it’s time to learn new things and dig deeper into our gothic side to enjoy the morbid and unusual. Let’s start with something light and dark, shall we?

Card Games And Fairy Tales

New Year’s greetings, Biters! Let’s kick 2023 off with a rather odd choice for a GBM article. I want to look at Yu-Gi-Oh!.

Now, I want to discuss something other than the anime or manga. I want to look at the real-world trading card game, but even more so, one card in particular, The Unhappy Maiden.

The Merkins Are The Perfect Holiday Boy Band

The Merkins are a musical band dedicated to the horror of all occasions! The holidays rarely rhyme with horror or slasher flicks. But The Merkins somehow make it work.

The Holiday Cheers All Around

“In my life, I’ve done a lot of waiting: Waiting on Halloween to come back around…as I stood in line and did some deep thinking, I realized I could celebrate Halloween all year round.”

— Michael Myers as Forrest Gump

That’s right, Biters. I meant to have this article out for October, but I missed that deadline. But that’s okay because, as goths, we let our Halloween spirit run all year long, including the Winter Solstice / Yule / Christmas.

Gothic Queen Classic Remake Review

It is not the first time that our pop culture expert, James or our favourite Skeleton Hiding In Our Closet do reviews about classic remakes, so, without further due, here’s a new one!

It’s Good To Be Back!

Alright, Biters,

I have something a little different for you. Both friends, family and even coworkers have encouraged me to share about my autism. With that, I have not one but four YouTube cover artists for the price of one.

Biters meet Violet Orlandi, Addie Nicole of Halocene, Audra Miller of First to Eleven, and the GBM return of Lauren Babic. These four ladies are frequent collaborators. So, it’s kind of hard to talk about one without bringing up the others.

Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport Review By James YouTube

Those who are regulars over at GBM know that James Vaughan is our pop culture guy and music reviewer for covers. He is almost a YouTube promoter at this point! But this one…well, come in to read for yourself!

Literally Grasping At Australian Straws

WARNING: Offensive Racist Lyrics | Abuse of a corpse | Language | Racism
We are sorry for any offence with may cause. The article revolves around other lyrics of the song.

Biters, I have another song lined up, and you’ll be surprised! It’s an original song and not a cover. With that said, I hope you feel limber because I’ll be reaching and stretching for this musical number

Oh! Spoiler! Warning for how the stinger of how the song ends. Since it is why I wanted to share it with you all.

A Duo Covers Like No Other

Gothic Bite Magazine reviews many different subjects and one of them is left to our pop culture specialist, James Vaughan. He loves his indie bands and his favourites are those who do covers of hits in a more rock and metal way!

It’s Been A While

A while back, in my Wolf Totem article, I did a mini review on somebody I’ve been wanting to talk about for ages Pamela Romvel and David Galardi, better known as The Covers Duo.

So, Biters, let’s move these two from the Gothic Bite Magazine opening act to the GBM headliners and take a closer look at The Covers Duo.

How To Survive An Iconic Slasher Killer Like Leatherface

Gothic Bite Magazine is officially relaunched this week! To kickstart our new beginning, we decided to do a week on how to survive an iconic slasher killer.

McConaughey Wasn’t Driving A Lincoln

The GBM Relaunch is winding down, and shockingly yet another Friday the 13th where I’m not talking about Jason. Biters, I can hear you cry blasphemy.

After all, it’s his big day, but we can’t end this relaunch without sending you off with some southern hospitality. That’s right, let’s talk Leatherface.

The Hu

Move Over Pete Townshend There Is A New Who In Town!

Come read about the foreign group that is inspiring our YouTube Addict, James Vaughan! Come over and discover music you might not have heard of before!

Mongolian Wolves

Biters, I think it’s obvious at this point I’m a bit of a hard rock, metal fan. So, I’d like to tackle the Mongolian throat singing metal band The Hu.

The Hu was introduced to me a few months back by one of my gaming friends. It happened through what must be their most well-known song and the center piece of this article, Wolf Totem.

Happy Friday The 13th Ja—Geoff?

Happy Friday the 13th, everyone! Today is a no-go to a summer camp near a lake or play hockey with a mask! But more than that, today is about a cover song!

It’s Friday The 13th!

Happy Friday, the 13th Biters! I was going to do an article about our favorite hockey-mask-loving-zombie. You know him. You love him…

They Killed Burt Gummer

Biters, it’s time for an aftershock. Quite a few months back, I did a review on the 90’s cult classic Tremors.

*** SPOILER ALERT! ***

It’s All About Burt Gummer

This article will not be a film review on the sequels but more of a tribute to the film’s breakout character Burt Gummer.

If this intro has not tipped my hand already, major spoiler alert for Tremors Shrieker Island.

Last night I queued up Netflix and saw a new tremors film had come out, so naturally, I had to watch it. This film hit all the familiar beats I know and love from this franchise, but it also did something I never expected and shook me to my core. They killed Burt Gummer.

Ten Second Songs Now Anthony Vincent

The BooTube Expert, James Vaughan, is back with a new artist he wants to showcase. It is worth it!

Enough Rest

Alright, Biters GBM is back after a little needed R&R. Before all of us writers jump back into writing, I thought I’d warm back up by showcasing another of my favorite musical YouTubers.

Today I’m putting the GBM spotlight on Anthony Vincent and his channel Ten Second Songs.

The Walking Dead

Undead, Living Dead, Walkers, ZOMBIES!

The week keeps going with the favorite monsters of our writers! Today, James shares his choice, and he liked them before it was cool to do so!

The Monster

The time has come Biters to talk favorite monsters. I can hear you now. “That’s easy. You said it’s the Graboids from Tremors!”

Or you call yourself GBM’s Skeleton in the Closet, so it has to be skeletons. But you’d be surprised. It’s actually zombies.

Phobia Week Keeps Going With Ichthyophobia

Just keep swimming! So many tales and movies take place underwater. Some pleasurable, some suspenseful and there’s James.

Sleep With The Fishes

Alright, Biters, the Gothic Bite Magazine, is doing a phobia week. So, I have a bit of an odd one for you. It’s called ichthyophobia, and it is the fear of fish.

For as long as I can remember, I have had a crippling fear of just about anything, which called the water home. Although I’m a good sport about it, this has led to endless jokes and teasing from friends and family alike.

GBM Interviews High Voltage A Tribute Band to AC/DC

At Gothic Bite Magazine we love welcoming new patients to become part of our asylum. We question them and learn about them. It doesn’t matter what creative field they are part of because they’re our patient now. This week, we welcome the founder of High Voltage, Greg Kuta.

Patient Name: Greg Kuta

I was the second baby born in Baltimore on January 1, 1963, 12:42am, and it has been a party ever since! Raised in the Highlandtown section of East Baltimore, I attended St. Elizabeth’s Catholic school across from Patterson Park.

Growing up in the city was great. There were kids your age everywhere, and it was nothing to put together a game of soccer, baseball, or football. At the age of five or six, my grandmother gifted our family an electric organ.

VoicePlay A Unique A Capella Group

Last time Jonathan Young was a musician James Vaughan did a review about and now he presents us with a wonderful and unique musical band named, Voice Play!

A Unique Acapella Group

Seasons Greetings Biters and Happy Holidays.

For this December, I’d share with you an A Capella group called, VoicePlay. I’ve wanted to write about these guys as far back as the Phantom of the Opera month. But I was not all that confident in my writing ability.

Now that I’ve got a few articles under my belt and sharpened my teeth a bit, let me introduce you to VoicePlay.

Halloween Bandana Final Product

A DIY Halloween Dog Bandana

For the month of Halloween, our writer, James Vaughan, came up with this great idea of showing you how to make your very own dog bandana for Halloween! No reason to exclude our furry friends out of the Halloween fun!

No Rejection for the Furry Monsters!

Greetings, Biters. For this occasion, I thought I’d do something unique and teach you how to make one of my favorite projects a pet bandana.

After all, every witch has her cat, every demon needs a faithful hell hound, and what’s a Vampire without bats.

Netflix - The Umbrella Academy

Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy

Greetings once again, Biters! For June, I thought I’d look at the Netflix hit series, The Umbrella Academy.

The Official Summary

On one day in 1989, 43 infants are inexplicably born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy the day before. Seven are adopted by billionaire industrialist Sir Reginald Hargreeves, who creates The Umbrella Academy and prepares his “children” to save the world.

In their teenage years, though, the family fractures and the team disbands. Fast forward to the present time, when the six surviving members of the clan reunite upon the news of Hargreeves’ passing.
