The Hellish Killer Who Fought With Joan of Arc

Gilles de Rais or Baron de Rais, was a knight and lord from Brittany, Anjou and Poitou. He was a leader in the French army, and a companion-in-arms of Joan of Arc. So, how is it that his reputation turned to a killer of children?

The True Face Of Evil

Gilles ‘Baron’ de Rais fought alongside Joan of Arc at the Siege of Orléans. This was around La Roche-Bernard in France in September 1438.

de Rais was a young lord who was hailed as a hero. So, understandably any mother would be honored to have their ten-year-old son go live with de Rais and become his page. Unbeknownst to the mother, she would never see her young son again.

What Are Familiars According To Western Demonology

Familiar is a word that starts gaining popularity among new comers in witchery and the paranormal. The popularization of the word comes from pop culture but it has a quite ancient meaning.

Familiars, What Are They?

You may have heard of the term “familiar spirits” in paranormal shows like The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina or Supernatural, but this word is also mentioned nine times in The Bible. The first mention of this phrase is found in Leviticus 19:31

“Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.”

Social Construct

Honestly, what do each one of us serve in society? Are we like the hardworking bees, all assigned duties or work assignments to make the hive grow, survive.

It’s hard to believe that we serve an integral part of society with our mundane day-to-day interactions, but we do.

Full Moon And Legends Gives You A Werewolf

I have always loved the werewolvesSomething about being so powerful has always struck me.

My First Screen Experience

My first dab with the beasts was seeing them on screen, and I have to say as a little kid, I was awestruck by the transformation from human to werewolf.

The first movie I saw that dealt with was the old white and black, The Wolf Man. You have to remember this was the late 70s so old black and white movies were still showing.

80s Heavy Metal

Back in the 80s, we had a surge of new music invading the pop charts, you had bands like Eurythmics, Duran Duran, Madonna, Poison, Bon Jovi, etc.

These were friendly listening bands to play on the radio and MTV, but there was a piece of underground music rearing its teeth with screaming guitars, social lyrics, and blasting drums.

The Brutal Fascination

There seems to be a fascination with serial killers. Even I am intrigued by them. So, what is it about them that piques people interest in them? Is it their crimes, the victims? The types of murders they committed.

The brutality of it all? For me, it’s trying to understand how another human being can be so devoid of emotions that they see other humans as prey. Chilling to think of, but to them, we are a means to their dark desires.
