You Dead?
I love a good prequel don’t you? It always feels like you are seeing the inner sanctum and waiting for the alarms to go off because you are in a restricted area and the $*$* could hit the fan any minute if you are not careful.
That and you get this different view of a character or group because you get to see what in their lives causes them to behave the way they do or why they make the choices that they make.
With this review of The Exorcist’s Apprentice: Town Of Pottersfield, I will be leaving it as spoiler free as possible as it deserves to be read. All that being said, let’s dive in!
The Book Of Life And Death
In The Exorcist’s Apprentice: Town Of Pottersfield, we get to meet Vida Braganza who has quite the secret she is hiding.
An inherited trait that for her seems more like a curse, Vida has issues with death, as in dying, and seeing beyond the veil. After a crash, her life shifts and she starts to learn that secrets are everywhere and information is available for those who know where to look.
Her Mother and Brother, Manuel, have her back and when an influence from childhood Father Mulcahy comes back into her life…the answers start becoming more clear.

As her journey is truly only just beginning, and there are forces of darkness who want nothing more than to see her bleed, she has a hefty list of things to learn if she wants the upper hand.
Hopefully the answers she is about to get will solve the questions racing her mind as she is about to learn that satisfaction indeed brought the cat back again.
Conclusion
L.A. Maciel gives very vivid personifications for her characters and you can feel the love in her writing as they come to life from the written words. Her words give a hint of The Exorcist and took me to Tru Calling in outstanding ways.

In her series the characters are the main focus and rightfully so as she spins a tale of humor, life, and a tinge of fear. For such a short story it draws you in and makes you that much more prone to ask, What’s next?
You truly want to know what becomes of Vida and just where her story leads, what doors she opens in her search for understanding. I fully recommend a read and keeping up with the author for more!
