I’ve been researching my genealogy for the last few months, going back generations through the United States, Ireland, Germany, France, and England.

Completely content a few months ago with finding relatives that serviced in the civil war and the revolutionary what more could a ghoul ask for? Diving into European archives and church records the fascinating history began to emerge.

So travel back with me a little to the fourteen hundreds, Kent England. Castle Sissinghurst in the county of Cranbrook. My eighteen great-grandfather, Sir. Thomas Baker bought the Castle, not all that uncommon for its time.

Bloody Baker

What would follow in the next two generations however would become part of English History and paranormal lore. Thomas’s grandson Sir John Richard Baker also known throughout history as “Bloody Baker” for his role in the deaths of three hundred Protestants in the name of the church.

The castle itself would be torn down by Sir John Richard Baker and a Tudor style home with expansive gardens built in its place. The same ones that are still available for tours today.
