Oh, this one. This one was painful, but like I have said before “B” movies can have some of the greatest kill scenes even if the story is not there.
This version of the movie is a remake of the original 1978, Piranha and came out in 2010. I have never seen the original, so I cannot speak to it. However, the remake? Let’s do this.
The Summary
Lake Victoria’s annual Spring party by 50,000 young revelers is about to turn into a feeding frenzy with prehistoric hunger-pains.

With knee-trembler’s above the waves and tremors below, released from their dormant sleep, thousands upon thousands of flesh-eating nippers are released into the lake with whetted appetites and razor-sharp teeth.
With a motley crew of strangers thrown together to defend these shores, it is now up to them to prevent the largest eat-out in human, and piranha, history. — Written by Cinema_Fan, IMDb
That Famous Spring Break
So the premise of Piranha 3D is that the town of Lake Victoria is a hot spot for Spring Breakers. Recently a diver was found near a Mesolithic Era dig in an unexplained death.

Sheriff Julie Forester, Emily Shue, and her Deputy Fallon have questions about what could have killed the man. After sending the body for autopsy, they come across an unknown live species of fish.
Prehistoric Fish with an Appetite
They take the fish to a local expert played by Christopher Lloyd, who informs them that it is a real-life version of an extinct prehistoric fish that we equate to the Piranha. In what is almost homage to Jaws, the Sheriff tries to evacuate the waters, but it only ends in screams. Many screams.

An all-out bloodbath occurs as a result of the sobering Spring Breakers in the water. This scene is one of the best parts of the movie, no joke. While this is all going on and the Sheriff and her officers are trying to save people she gets the call I feel any of us would dread. Her children are on a stranded yacht, and it is sinking.
Worth the Death?
This one is tough to rate. The story, to me, is so sad that it automatically placed this one in the cheesy section. However, there are death scenes that are a hundred percent worth the watch.

Since we are taking this, however, this one gets 3 out of 10 Bloody Cleavers from me. It is not one I want to watch again anytime soon.
