Inspired by Hotel Transylvania The Series, my friend Nanye and I decided to undertake the mission to recreate all foods from the beloved franchise.
Piece of Worm Cake!
Yes, from Hotel Transylvania! So, here we go, piece of worm cake!
When I decided to give a try to remake the food from my favorite cartoon, inspired by so many monstrous names and ingredients, Nanye noted that it’d be better off if we tried something easy.

So, because in Hotel Transylvania The Series, Mavis would often say, “Piece of worm cake!” I decided, why not start with cake! So, to do so and because I do have a few intolerances including gluten and lactose when my hubby and I went to Vermont, we bought just the right ingredients so I could enjoy the best spookylicious worm cakes and feel one step closer to be becoming Mavis!
Making The Cakes!
1 box of your favorite white cake mix (we used Pillsbury Funfetti Gluten Free Cake Mix.) and follow the directions behind the box! So far so good, pretty easy!

Once the cake is in the oven and that you have decided to make cupcakes or just one cake, it’s time to prepare the frosting! No need, we just used, again, the Pillsbury Funfetti Frosting that is also gluten-free!
Keep It Easy!
In our case, Nanye and I made cupcakes and so to make it awesome, we decided to take a box of Oreo Cookies, disregard the cream (I know! What a waste!) and to crush the cookies, we put them in a plastic bag (Ziplock) and with a kitchen meat hammer, Nanye crushed the cookies until it looked like dirt.

Meanwhile, I frosted the cakes roughly, to have it look sort of “dirty” and pours the crushed cookies on top and squeezed in some freshly bought gummy worms. It looked awesome and tasted so good.
Overall Monstrousness
Nanye and I agreed that it was a mess to eat, that it was a real treat to make as we had so much fun making them!

The taste was just like a homemade cake and also, yes! A piece of worm cake! Why complicate your life when you can make it easy and delicious!
