Anubis from Assassin's Creed Origins by Ubisoft

Poetry by Kendra Hale

Anubis was the god of embalming and the dead. Since jackals were often seen in cemeteries, the ancient Egyptians believed that Anubis watched over the dead.

Anubis was the god who helped to embalm Osiris after he was killed by Seth.

My Eternal Keeper
by Kendra Hale

A long time ago, in a world of our own
We met many times
And while others feared your touch, your mere presence
You made feel not so alone
Cherished, Wanted
The scales of our faith couldn’t have found a lighter heart
I made myself a vow,
From you I would never part

Anubis from Ancient Egyptian Mythology
Anubis from Ancient Egyptian Mythology

While others looked upon you with despondence and fear
I couldn’t help but to want you always near
You were wary of me, rightfully so
There was so much to you I just had to know
I wanted your present, to hear of your past
To plan and to plot the coming days here in the sand
Whatever may come, whatever is before us
I plan to be here, with you my precious Anubis.
